the nearest weather disturbance, down near the florida coast, or out in the dakotas back in nevada. they're even getting snow in the mountains of colorado. then we have the west coast. our forecast today is quiet, nice, and lots of sunshine all day long. not just part of the day. 50 to 55 the high. these temperatures still just a degree or two below what we'd consider average for the season. winds ten miles an hour. by the time we get to sunday afternoon we see a little storm. the disturbance is down near florida. drifts up to the carolinas. it will probably toss some clouds at us. we're still under the influence of the high so it will probably hold the rain to the south. another disturbance. the elements of the west coast storm starts to make its presence known on this particular model. by wednesday afternoon off shore a storm develops. but rain really not an issue around here. the storm is far enough off shore that it looks like going into thanks giving will be in good shape. what about the game at pittsburgh. they're kind of enjoying the same weather we are tomorrow night. ravens

the only swing states obama will carry are michigan and nevada and new mexico. the reason i believe that is if you read the distorted media polls, most of them start off with a far too many democrats and far too few republicans. the latest pew survey has a national margin of 3 points for obama has 4 points more democrats than republicans. but the gallup poll which is the most authoritative last week concluded that there were now three points more republicans than democrats in the country. so it's d-4 and the reality is r-3. so it's a 7-points distortion. so if you are showing romney losing by 3 he's running by 4. if you take the finding in the pew poll that republicans are 6% more likely to turn out than democrats. so instead of it being plus 7, instead of switching to it a romney win by 4, you now have a romney win by 6 or 7. and then you take the undecided vote which always goes against the i am couple bent. you allocate it 2 to 1 for romney you are talking about a win of 7-10 points. if you go through each of the states you can do a similar calculation. i don

so if you are traveling to the sierra nevada bring chains. let's time it out. today showers continuing on and off. into the evening here's the next band that i was talking about. you can see some heavier downpours and that will push through tonight. scattered showers into saturday not a rainout but you want to keep that umbrella and then a stronger system moves in on saturday night into sunday morning. mix of sun and clouds and some wandering showers on sunday. so not a washout for the weekend. but we'll see some occasional rain. most of that comes in the nighttime hours. temperatures are going to stay fairly mild with this storm system. rainfall totals though impressive. over 1.5" into the santa cruz mountains over an inch in the santa rosa area and then toward the next storm system, maybe over 2." so a good soaker for the bay area and we are not done. more on the way after that. temperatures mainly in the 60s for today. next few days a little stormy so a wet weekend for the bay area. then it looks like come monday the rain line shifts further north still a ch

every major ski resort in the tahoe area in nevada or northern california will be open by friday much better than last year where we had no snow until early december. back here in the bay area the bay bridge with a backdrop of mainly cloudy skies. concord 58. san francisco 61. cloudy in san jose. currently 62 degrees. the set up in the atmosphere is this. there is a large area of pressure approaching the bay area. it will take time to get here and time to leave. the first wave of rainfall gets here tomorrow morning, sloppy morning commute to wrap up the workweek and a rough drive home. this low pressure is going to take the weekend to get out leaving finally on sunday afternoon. so that's most of friday all of saturday and most of sunday looking wet. let's time the first wave for you because we're look at steady to heavy rainfall especially north of the golden gate on friday morning with scattered showers and kind of throughout the day picking up in intensity once again by 6:00 tomorrow night. highs tomorrow with the cloud cover with the rain, a little below normal. san francisco 62.
